Reading the Bible is Like Eating Fish!

(Charles Spurgeon)

An old man once said, “For a long period I puzzled myself about the difficulties of Scripture, until at last I came to the resolution that reading the Bible is like eating fish. When I find adifficulty–I lay it aside, and call it a bone. Why should I choke on the bone–when there is so much nutritious meat for me? Some day, perhaps, I may find that even the bone may afford me nourishment!”

  1. It can’t be good having to move around this time of year. Hope everything goes well.
Your national dish will probably have maple syrup in it.

  2. Actually, the national dish is fish and chips. It would be wouldn’t it? All is well with us, hope it’s ok with you too.

    • That’s a jolly dish, right! Not sure what ours is, but with all the so called refugees swarming into Canada, ours will most likely have an Arabian flare to it.

We’re good, but have to move. Our landlord sold our house. We have one place in mind but are trying to iron out some wrinkles in the rental agreement. If it doesn’t work for both parties, then we’ll have to find something else. What a time of year to move!

    • Perhaps I should have said reading the Bible was like drinking tea? Or eating crumpets? Or…? What do the British have trouble eating?

I guess for anyone who has swallowed a bone from a fish understands…leave the bones alone. Hope all is well! 🙂
