See Sin in its Own Colours

Human_Heart_and_Circulatory_System.pngLabour to see sin in its own colours, what an evil thing it is, Jer. 2:19. What makes us to cleave to sin, is false apprehensions we have about it. To see it in itself would be a means to make us fly from it.

  1. Practically an understatement, to say fly from it, but I suppose it is the fastest way away from sin.

The Bible says to flee youthful lusts. That doesn’t mean you stop fleeing youthful lusts when you are old, but flee it anyway.

God is of purer eyes than to look upon evil, and just think, He sees everything.

    1. Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
      Malachi 3.16

If there’s a book of remembrance for the righteous, imagine if God had a book for the rebellious? Perhaps He does. He does hold us accountable for every action, word and thought that is not glorifying to Him.

      Scary thought.
